Complete Randomness

1.  I have terrible seasonal allergies.
I got a cold sore.
Years ago my neighbor told me to take L-Lysine (an amino acid)
for cold sores.  Which I always take when I get one.
I took it last night.
the cold sore was gone this morning!
I love knowing my body is missing an amino acid or a certain vitamin and being able to replace that as opposed to taking harsh drugs.

 2.  Through our reading program,
Writing with Ease,
A has been exposed to passages from books that were made into
classic Disney movies.
She expressed a desire to read the original books
& has been on a role,
she and Jason (love that man!) read the Peter Pan
by J.M. Barrie
(Peter Pan --in every form is Jason's favorite!)
and is now reading
I love that she has this interest & that our curriculum sparked the interest!!

3.  P is all about Louis Sachar's Wayside School series.
She likes to laugh!!

4.  I did the most awesome yoga routine yesterday on Yogatoday.com
It's all about lowering your blood pressure.
I felt so calm and relaxed and centered and focused afterwards.
it was amazing!
Check it out if you get a chance:

4.  One of my mom friends from when the girls were in school came in to the library yesterday.
She made me feel very glad that we are homeschooling!
Nice to know I am not the only one that thinks the way I think!

5.  We finished Story of the World Volume 1: the Ancients
yesterday.
It was a bit sad,
we will miss reading it and doing the activities.
We learned so very much,
the girls are a bit disappointed not to delve right into Volume 2,
if that doesn't speak volumes (pun intended) I don't know what does!

6.  A finished Writing With Ease Year Three today.
To be honest, she didn't NEED to do it,
but we enjoyed it and I am glad that I know that she has all of those skills.
We did the accelerated program and P will finish that tomorrow.
P will use Level 4 Workbook next year.
I don't think A needs that,
so we will focus more on selecting books to read & discuss.

7.  The girls both took & did fantabulous on their Grammar Verbs Test.
They are studying for the cumulative test & will be taking that & finishing grammar tomorrow.
They also each have Unit tests in Math tomorrow
and will be taking a few weeks off from Math.

8. We are taking a little vacation
to celebrate
the end of our first year of homeschool
& Mother's Day.
I can't wait!
