Thomas J. Scuto, Queens, NY - Obituary

I was really disappointed with the obituary that ran in the paper for my uncle.  The grammar was atrocious and there is so much that it didn't say.  I like an obituary to tell a little bit about the person. So, I am re-writing it.

Thomas Joseph Scuto passed away on November 24, 2012.  Thomas was born in Brooklyn, New York.  He received his undergraduate degree from Fordham University.  He received his PharmD from St. John's University.  Thomas served his country in the United States Army.  He worked as a pharmacist in Maspeth, Queens.  He worked as the Director of the Pharmacy Department at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.  Thomas was credited with saving the life of a whale at Coney Island Aquarium when he was able to quickly get a needed medication.  Thomas loved art, theater and the opera.  He was proud of his Sicilian-American Heritage.  He is the beloved brother of Antoinette Scuto of Whitestone, NY and Rosemarie Novak of Hillsborough, NJ.  He is the cherished uncle of Michael Novak of Toms River, NJ and Theresa Bond of Middlesex, NJ.  In his retirement, Tom finally had time to devote himself to pottery, something he had always been interested in.  A Memorial Fund is being established in his name at the Potter's Wheel in Kew Gardens, NY.  Reposing at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME of Flushing, Northern Blvd @ 193rd Street. Visiting Hours Wednesday 7-9pm and Thursday 2-5 & 7-9pm. Leaving funeral home Friday at 10am for interment at Mount St. Mary's Cemetery.
