Artwork Bunting for Kids' Room

We are preparing for our holiday guests.  We've touched up the trim (you know the little knicks and scratches that come with having kids); we've hung some new curtains and we've been been doing a little sprucing up.

We made this adorable "clothesline" for P to hang her art work on:

I had seen these on-line and in magazines, but was not really sure what to use for hooks.

So, the other day, the girls and I went to Target and Michaels and ended up with these adorable wooden flowers and a handful of different hooks.

We brought it all home and presented it to Jason.  My genius husband said we didn't need to use the hooks.  He popped the button off the center of each flower, screwed the flowers into the wall, leaving about a half inch of the screw sticking out.

He tied the ribbon around the screw and screwed it in some more.  And Voila the ribbon is the perfect distance from the wall and it looks great!

When he was done, I actually used glue dots to put the buttons back on.  We decided that was best since they are easier to get off than other adhesives, in case we need to tighten the screw.  If it doesn't stay, I'll use a hot glue gun.  But it's been three days with the glue dots and they have not fallen off once!

I bought some small clothespins and dressed them up with these adorable scrapbooking embellishments.

I think it looks really cute!

It was just what the wall needed!

If you want to do something similar, any wood form would work, something you can layer would be good so the base can be screwed in and other forms glued on top to the ribbon.  There are a wide variety of scrapbooking embellishments that would add a little splash to the clothespins
and of course TONS of options in ribbon!

P loves having this place to display her artwork!
