Miscellaneous Ramblings

1.  My cousin's wife had a baby boy last week
ON my grandmother's 93rd birthday!!!
How cool is that???? My Grandma is PSYCHED!!!!!!
We wish them all well: good health and happiness & lots of love!!

2.  Piper lead the Palm Sunday Procession in church.
She was VERY EXCITED all week about her role in this.
She lead the ENTIRE choir, children and adults, through the church, weaving through the aisles, singing and waving palms.

3.  We spent some time this weekend exploring a historic village + hiking.
It's what we love to do.
Historic Village + Nature Study + Photography = Happy Family Memories
Allaire State Park, NJ
4.  After the historic village, we headed to the beach.
It's one of the things I love about living in New Jersey...the mountains and the ocean are so close!

5.  After the beach we started our summer project.
We are trying to eat something from restaurants that have been featured on the Food Network that are in our area.  We tried 10th Avenue Burrito in Belmar.
I had the {Amazing} Blackened Catfish Burrito with Spinach, Avocado, Pineapple Salsa, and Black Beans.  One of the blackening spices was rosemary and that just made this burrito one of the most amazing I have ever eaten!

4.  We got out the old firepit this weekend.
Had a little backyard firepit fire with the homeschool neighbor peeps!

5.  I took a TON of fire pictures.
They kept coming out cool, so I kept taking more.

6.  Did you know that if someone stands on the opposite side of the fire from you,
their voice has to go AROUND the energy the fire creates
and it sounds like it is going AROUND a wall.
{Homeschool lesson in there!}

7.  I have decided that Samoas or Caramel Delites (depending on what part of the country you live in)
are the absolute most perfect and best and delicious cookie
ever made!

Samoas are the BEST Girl Scout cookie!

8.  I am excited to launch
this new site for homeschool moms with Susan from Learning ALL the Time.
We are hoping this will be a place for moms to link up how they do crafts or projects, with tips and techniques,
so that other moms can learn from them.
We are hoping for posts that people WANT to have pinned so we can spread the blog love!

So, how was your weekend?
What did you do?
