My mother gave me a book called "Grace for the Moment" by Max Lucado. The message for yesterday was titled "Secondhand God" and encouraged the reader not to rely on someone else's experience of God, but to take time every day to spend with God. I read the book at night, just before I turn out my light. As I lay in the dark last night, I realized just how touched by God my life has been lately. He is everywhere, in everything I do. Of course, he always is, but I can see it right now.
The things I was concerned about have all worked out: our oldest daughter has made honor roll each marking period this year, she is reading above her grade level. School comes very easily for our younger daughter. Both of our girls are blessed with really good friends and opportunities. My husband's job is going wonderfully and work is picking up. My job, despite rumors of budget cuts, has been promised to be secure. We enjoy good health. We have been blessed with a wonderful family and great friends.
