Wordless Wednesday - Lincoln Monument

On our recent vacation, we spent a fair amount of time in Washington, D.C.

The Lincoln Monument affected me.  I felt a hush both inside and out...making me feel the photos are perfect for a Wordless Wednesday:

This is carved into the marble in front of Abraham Lincoln, on his right hand side.
It was very, very powerful.  To me.  It meant a lot to me that it was there and that it was placed where it was.  It made me very PROUD of my country.  It made me PROUD to be an AMERICAN.

May God Bless all of the men and women who fight for freedom here and abroad, in the past, in the present and in the future.
